QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN - HOOPESTON, IL

Quality Assurance Technician – Mornings

Hours: 4AM – 2:30PM

Days: Mon-Thurs (some Fridays)

Training: 2-3 week training period during day hours

Pay: $19.37/hrly

SUMMARY:
Ensure products comply with company, customer, and regulatory standards by conducting quality and food safety checks. Support QA operations to maintain compliance with all related programs and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor production lines, ensuring compliance with specifications, critical control points, and quality standards. Initiate corrective actions when necessary.
• Verify and document testing equipment accuracy (e.g., scales, thermometers, refractometers, salt meters).
• Conduct hourly checks on can codes, visual seams, and attribute grading. Maintain accurate production records.
• Oversee product sampling, including first production samples, customer requests, and daily retention samples.
• Perform pre-production sanitation, food safety, and quality inspections. Assist with quality issues in production and distribution.
• Conduct lab tests for moisture, salt, pH, and other quality parameters. Troubleshoot lab equipment as needed.
• Assist with incoming raw material verification, packaging reviews, and production paperwork audits.
• Support R&D sampling, heat penetration tests, and new product evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, GMPs, SQF, and company policies. Maintain proper recordkeeping and documentation.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the QA Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and follow instructions independently.
• Trainable and willing to learn new processes, equipment, and procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data entry software.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
