Summary of the Position:
We are seeking a hands-on Director of Business Intelligence to support the execution of our enterprise data strategy. This role blends technical expertise in BI, data governance, metadata management, and data engineering with strategic leadership across business and technology teams to lead cross-functional data-related initiatives.
You will drive the development of scalable data platforms, ensure data quality and compliance, and champion the use of analytics, automation, and AI to enable data-informed decision-making. Key responsibilities include overseeing the enterprise data management and BI platforms, processes, and data products, cloud data architecture, and orchestration of data and ML pipelines.
The ideal candidate brings a service-oriented mindset, excels at cross-functional collaboration, and is passionate about building a global BI Center of Excellence that supports a thriving data culture.
This role reports to the Senior Director of IT Enterprise Applications and manage one internal data engineer and external consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop dashboards, synthesize data, and generate actionable insights for senior leadership and strategic functions.
Promote BI adoption across business units by championing data literacy, training programs, and stakeholder engagement.
Lead the evolution of the firm’s data infrastructure into a modern, flexible, and best-in-class platform integrating data management, infrastructure, data science, AI, and end-user needs.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and execute AI/ML use cases using Databricks Machine Learning, Azure ML, or equivalent platforms.
Identify, acquire, and integrate internal and external data sources to support analytics and broader firm use cases.
Support self-service analytics by implementing robust data models, shared datasets, semantic layers, and access controls in Tableau and Power BI.
Establish and enforce standards for dashboard development, data visualization, data source integration, and user training.
Drive Agile project management, managing delivery pipelines for data engineering, reporting, and AI initiatives.
Collaborate with enterprise technology, information governance, and security teams to ensure the data platforms meet governance, security, and privacy standards.
Stay current on industry trends in BI, cloud, and AI to drive continuous innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
Establish KPIs and usage metrics to evaluate platform adoption, data quality, and business impact of BI initiatives.
Ensure the data infrastructure is AI-ready with proper data labeling, lineage, and governance in place.
Prioritize, coordinate, and communicate enhancements, incidents, and releases across the data ecosystem.
Coordinate cloud infrastructure budgeting, licensing, and usage optimization.
Maintain thorough documentation, including architecture diagrams, platform runbooks, and data dictionaries.
Manage vendor relationships, including contracts, renewals, support SLAs, and third-party development efforts.
