About the role

Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable (Hybrid - 1 to 3 days onsite per week)

Overview:

The Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable oversees invoicing, credit and cash application activities within the accounts receivable department. The Senior Manager of Accounts Receivable oversees the day-to-day operations of the department, holds weekly meetings with the team and maintains department  policies, procedures and controls. You will work directly with the Assistant Controller  to ensure a timely close out, raise any issues within the team, and work cross functionally for seamless interactions with outside departments.They will work with Accounting and Finance leadership and partner with Sales leadership on customer collections and accounting implications of those collections. They will work with IT and spearhead ERP related tasks and projects that impact the Billing, AR, and Accounting departments.

The impact you'll make:

  • During month end close:
    • Work cross functionally with the sales department to ensure all revenue streams have been accounted for. 
    • Manage AR specialists and verify all documents have been accurately processed within the current month. 
    • Manage Payment Processing Specialists to verify all payments have been accurately processed within the current month and balance against our bank account.
    • Prepare month end close reconciliation of AR sub-ledger and Deferred Revenue to the general ledger.
  • Review monthly and quarterly SOX control workbooks
  • Prepare weekly and monthly analyses for leadership of AR by customer 
  • Identify accounts with collection risk and funnel to finance and sales leadership 
  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly tracking of cash basis customers
  • Review and adequately account for credit requests submitted by sales department, including quarterly bad debt write offs
  • Review and approve both credit requests and journal requests submitted by accounts receivable team
  • Work directly with the Director of Accounting on new revenue streams or company changes that affect the department to ensure proper execution of those changes to the team’s day to day processes. 
  • Organize preparation of quarterly and yearly audit requests
  • Manage team in collecting documentation for internal and external requests
  • Manage and execute on new sales initiatives and projects (new discounts, media trade programs, etc)
  • Lead partnership between Billing and Sales teams on collection efforts
  • Partner with collections agency and assist Billing team in documentation requests 
  • Review and approve payment plans, track adherence and report on results to management
  • Serve as the main revenue/AR/billing point of contact for systems implementations

What you've accomplished:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience working in accounts receivable department
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in using accounting software ERPs
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Attention to detail, good judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in leading a team and implementing process improvement

The base pay range for this position is $122,000.00 - $129,000.00
