Strategic Communications Technical Writer

ARServices is seeking a Strategic Communications Technical Writer to work onsite at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA in support of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological Defense (DASD(CBD)) by drafting, consolidating inputs, reviewing, and editing all strategic messaging and communications.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and assisting with the development of all strategic messaging and communications within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological Defense (ODASD(CBD)).
• Developing speeches, read-aheads, and talking points for the DASD(CBD).
• Ensuring that all strategic communications are technically sound, grammatically correct, utilize the proper formatting standards, and are aligned with the DASD(CBD)’s strategic direction.
• Drafting and implementing strategic engagement and communication guidance for the ODASD(CBD) and CBDP components.
• Promoting a unified message across the CBDP Enterprise by developing and implementing CBDP strategic communications, enterprise-wide standards, and operating procedures.
• Developing strategic communications products for the ODASD(CBD) and promulgating through the CBDP enterprise.

Requirements

• TS/SCI security clearance upon start.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 10+ years of related work experience.
• Prior experience with technical writing, speech writing, talking points, read-aheads, or other similar types of strategic communication activities.

Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):

• 2+ years of Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)-level experience.
• DoD and/or chem/bio defense programs strategic communications background.
• Recent experience with the Correspondence and task Management System (CATMS).
