The Senior Proposal Specialist performs the following duties:
- Support the proposal development process and other Growth efforts for Aleut’s Mission Support and Technology Services group (M&T).
- Develop and craft persuasive, well-written narratives for technical and management content, past performance descriptions, and other proposal sections.
- Develop themes/strength statements, discriminators, and key success factors based on the Capture Plan.
- Write technical sections, including executive summaries, technical approaches, and methodologies to communicate the proposed solution effectively.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear and understandable language for non-technical readers and evaluators.
- Develop win themes for proposals.
- Analyze RFIs and RFPs for customer requirements and develop a solution that fits the customer's needs.
- Understand the competitive landscape and develop price-to-win strategies to submit winning proposals.
- Conduct research and interviews to gather necessary information and technical data for proposal development.
- Integrate feedback and suggestions from multiple stakeholders.
- Develop past performance descriptions that showcase Aleut’s relevant experience, successful projects, and positive outcomes.
- Review, analyze, and edit proposal content for clarity, consistency, and compliance with RFP and organizational standards, identifying areas for improvement in compliance and strength.
- Provide editing, proofreading, and reviews for proposals, RFI responses, and other deliverables.
- Contribute to proposal process improvement initiatives, including style guide enhancements and knowledge management.
- Assist with other proposal/Growth (BD)-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field (experience can substitute for specific degree specialty).
- Minimum three to five years of proven hands-on experience writing proposal narratives for various U.S. Federal Government clients, including IT/Cyber, Space, and Infrastructure (Facilities O&M and BOSS) arenas.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Knowledge of industry-standard proposal best practices and writing methodologies.
- Strong critical thinker, problem-solver, and naturally solution-oriented.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with a proven ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and proposal teams.
- Recent US Defense or Civilian Agency technology solutioning / delivery experience, preferably with the US Air Force/Space Force.
- Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly and effectively communicate them to various audiences.
- Ability to edit proposal content for grammar and consistency per RFP requirements and Aleut Federal style.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams/projects and respond promptly to tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and personal accountability for high-quality deliverables.
- Understanding of the Federal Government acquisition process.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse subject matter experts and Solution Architects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, Internet research, and proposal automation applications.
- Willingness to work extended hours, as necessary, to meet proposal response deadlines.
- APMP, Shipley, or similar certification is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent writing skills involving customer-ready presentations, proposal content, and technical documentation.
- Ability to work as a self-starter, take initiative, and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel (up to 20%) to meet with clients and teaming partners, support proposal efforts and attend conferences.
Salary Range: $100K-$125K
