Department Summary
As a Registered Nurse on our LifeFlight Critical Care Ground Team, you'll be part of a dedicated team providing advanced care to critically ill patients. Our team is comprised of an EMT/AEMT, Critical Care Paramedic, and a Critical Care Nurse. Our fully functional critical care ground ambulance is equipped with essential tools for advanced care, including blood products, full monitoring with invasive hemodynamic values, specialized equipment such as Hamilton T1 ventilator, ISTAT, Medtronic pacemaker, High flow Nasal Cannula, 8-channel IV pump, a vast number of medications, and knowledge to operate VAD, Impella, IABP, and ECMO.
The nurse will also apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient continuum of care Effectively communicates pertinent patient information to the remainder of the CCGT team and accepting team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals with partner and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Further professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to LifeFlight, the TN State EMS office, KY State EMS office, the TN Board of Nursing, and CAMTS.
Position Shift:
36 hrs/wk; Full-Time Night Shift
Three (3) 12-hour shifts
$15,000 signing bonus for eligible new hires
Relocation stipend available based on mileage

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Registered Nurse License Required; must be eligible for compact license KY/TN
- 3 years relevant nursing experience
- ACLS, BLS, PALS
- NRP (can be obtained during orientation)
- TNCC (equivalent advanced trauma certification) must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- NRP (can be obtained on orientation)
- Advanced certification - CTRN
- EMT/AEMT certification required within one year of hire - KY & TN
Preferred
- Advanced Nursing Certification - CTRN or CFRN)
- EMS Certification - KY & TN
- NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800
- Previous transport experience
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

- Care Planning (Novice): Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility. Ability to adapt to changes to patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity. Follow up to ensure problems and issues are resolved.
