We are seeking a motivated individual to join the Company Tax area of the Tax Department.  The Company Tax area of the Tax Department is responsible for supporting the domestic and international tax compliance and financial reporting for insurance & non-insurance companies.  The position requires a team player that is organized, responsive, and flexible and has the ability to handle multiple projects while producing accurate and timely results.

*This position is part-time, working 19 hours per week. 

The tax associate will gain experience in:

  • Federal income tax compliance
  • Tax research
  • Federal audits
  • Financial reporting

What you can expect:

  • Assist with federal income tax compliance and the preparation and review of federal tax filings included in Partnership K-1 statements. 
  • Contribute to financial reporting tasks and serve as a liaison to both external and internal audit teams regarding financial reporting issues.
  • Participate in the quarterly and year-end tax provision process for Domestic Insurance Companies.
  • Conduct tax research and support federal audit processes.
  • Assist in preparing reconciliations and analyses of book-to-tax adjustments related to Insurance Companies’ general account investment activities.
  • Collaborate with the ALM Finance Team to understand changes in financial reporting driven by investment activities.
  • Work with System Operations to ensure tax-related data in the investment reporting tool is accurately captured.
  • Assist with various ad hoc management requests and support ongoing process improvements.

What you'll need:

  • Previous experience in an accounting for finance position preferred
  • Tax accounting experience is preferred but not required.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational abilities, detailed oriented, ability to multi-task, prioritize independently, and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive in following up with project partners to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with CorpTax Compliance Software is a plus.
  • Assertive, proactive, flexible, and creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Willingness to engage in non-technical department initiatives as needed.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $64,100.00 to $95,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
