Maintenance Operations, a branch of the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Division, provides comprehensive maintenance services in support of the University’s operations.

Our teams provide a comprehensive array of qualified services, backed by our licensed and certified technicians, to this end, we offer opportunities for continuing education, as well as various stipends for additional trade licenses. Our team of trained trade experts are well-matched for the university’s operational and maintenance needs, whether the facility is a brand new laboratory of our iconic Tower.

Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employee without sponsorship.

Security sensitive; Hiring decision contingent upon applicant clearing a security background check and receiving an acceptable driver's rating. Applications will be reviewed online by the hiring department. Work Schedule is 40 hours a week, five 8-hour days, or possible four 10-hour days with schedule to be determined with supervisor. Some overtime, evening, weekend and holidays possible. Additionally, this position is entitled to additional pay for working on the weekend.

Purpose

Performs journey level preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic testing, and repairs of mechanical systems in campus facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostic testing, and repairs of mechanical systems to include pumps, fans, compressors, and specialty equipment. Acquires field data from equipment, tags, and applies equipment labels. Driving University owned vehicles to job sites will be required for this and most other functions.
  • Sets up rigging required to set pumps/fans. Sizes pumps and fans based on system parameters and pump/fan curves.
  • Utilizes precision instruments to determine flow rates, pressure drop, etc. t
