We're looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our team who thrives on working with development teams to secure their products across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Product Security Engineer you will collaborate closely with AI/ML teams to design, implement, and audit secure AI functionalities, ensuring trustworthiness and compliance with security standards. You will also provide technical guidance, promote automation, review designs, and drive our security teams to equip the engineering partner teams with the latest tools, techniques and methodologies to build secure products by default.

The Product Security team is responsible for making sure Atlassian products and services are safe and secure. We are looking for a Senior Product Security Engineer who thrives on working with development teams to secure their products across the entire software development lifecycle.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

• 5+ years demonstrated expertise and experience working in security-focused roles

• Strong background in software security principles combined with knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and practices.

• Experience with application security, especially web applications

• Experience in cloud security architecture and infrastructure

• Experience coding in Java, Python, or Go, and at least one scripting language

• An ability to reason about security decisions

• Experience leading projects from start to finish and mentoring other security practitioners

• An ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to engineers who know way more than you about their code

It's great, but not required, if you have:

• Experience collaborating effectively with data scientists, AI engineers, and product teams to embed security into AI features.

• Experience leveraging AI capabilities applied to security use cases

• Published contributions to the security community

• Presentation experience at industry events

• Experience working with compliance, privacy, IT, networking or related functions

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $190,800 - $249,100

Zone B: $171,900 - $224,425

Zone C: $158,400 - $206,800

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
