Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
- Snow Removal:
- Operate snow removal equipment and apply de-icing materials to clear snow and ice from walkways, parking lots, and other campus areas.
- Ensure all pathways and access points are safe and accessible during winter conditions.
- Light Custodial Duties:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste disposal.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of restrooms, common areas, and offices.
- Event Setup:
- Prepare and arrange furniture ensuring all necessary materials are available for campus events.
- Assist with event breakdown and cleanup to ensure spaces are returned to their original condition.
- Grounds Keeping:
- Manage outdoor maintenance tasks such as trimming bushes and landscaping to keep campus grounds aesthetically pleasing.
- Address any issues related to outdoor facilities and ensure they are properly maintained.
- Moving Office Furniture:
- Relocate office furniture and equipment as needed, ensuring careful handling to prevent damage.
- Set up furniture arrangements to meet the requirements of the campus community.
- Basic Maintenance:
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, changing light bulbs and air filters.
- Address small-scale maintenance needs to ensure the functionality and safety of facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Educational Background: High school diploma or GED required.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand/walk long distances, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Skills and Attributes: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience: Prior experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred but not required.
