Facilities Security Officer

Copper River Cyber Solutions is looking for a Facilities Security Officer to directly support the DCSA. The Project Controller II will have duties as a Special Security Officer (SSO) responsible for overseeing and managing the security operations within the DCSA NBIS Planning and Deployment Contract, with a particular focus on the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and the National Background Investigations System (NBIS).  Their primary role is to protect the organizations personnel, assets, and sensitive information from threats, both internal and external. 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures in accordance with government regulations and industry best practices
• Manage the security clearance process for employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring compliance with DISS and NBIS requirements
• Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and training programs to educate employees on security protocols, classification, and safeguarding of classified information
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date security records, including personnel security files, clearance documentation, and incident reports
• Collaborate with internal departments to identify and mitigate potential security risks, including physical security, cybersecurity, and insider threats
• Coordinate with government agencies and external stakeholders on security matters, including inspections, audits, and investigations
• Stay current with changes in security regulations, guidelines, and technologies, and implement necessary updates to maintain compliance
• Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related inquiries and incidents, providing timely and accurate information and guidance

  • Bachelors Degree

• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Facility Security Officer or in a similar security management role.

• • In-depth knowledge of the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and the National Background Investigations System (NBIS)
  • Familiarity with applicable security regulations, including the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
  • Strong understanding of security clearance processes and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
