For over 70 years, RTX BBN Technologies (BBN) has solved challenging problems through research, exploration, development, and prototyping. BBN’s Network & Cyber Technologies (NCT) team leverages computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, and physics to tackle customer challenges in electromagnetic warfare (EW), communications, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, networking, and RF domains for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. BBN is looking for creative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated scientists, engineers, and developers who want to create, contribute to, and grow cutting-edge research projects for offensive and defensive cyberspace operations.
What you will do:
Join a team that is defending and testing computer systems and networks.
Develop next-generation Cyber and EW capabilities
Analyze computers, networks, and signals to understand how they work and how to break them
Reverse engineer software, malware, and system architectures.
Learn strategies for both free form thinking and disciplined application.
Hone your oral and written presentation skills.
Work with extraordinarily skilled team members, from project leadership to fellow interns.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
Availability to work 40 hours per week during summer 2026 onsite in Columbia, Maryland.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Classroom and/or prior internship experience with C, C++, and / or Python.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with reverse engineering using tools such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja.
Knowledge of security fundamentals (cryptography, confidentiality/integrity/availability, etc.).
Experience with signal processing fundamentals.
Experience in a Linux environment.
Work Location:
This is an on-site role. Eligible candidates must reside or relocate within commuting distance of Columbia, Maryland.
