Job Description
As the Business, Product and Partnerships Lead, you will develop, manage and productize the C= platform ecosystem; advancing TBD’s product, operations, and monetization strategies. You will work closely with the newly formed Product Engineering team with the goal of building relationships that drive monetization and other strategic objectives, as well as operationalizing commercial products and services for C=.
Our strategy will initially focus on identifying and onboarding Lightning-native partners, then payments and financial services, and could eventually reach anyone who takes digital payments. As the first hire on the business side of C=, this is an opportunity to mold and shape that strategy, onboard our partners, and deliver a use case for Bitcoin with global impact.
The right person for this role is someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, and has deep experience with driving high stakes strategic and business development relationships that either unlock new products and services, or establish value chains that underlie commercial offerings at scale. Bonus if you have prior experience navigating the world of crypto, global payments landscape, and understand the challenges and opportunities involved with regulated sectors that nexus on identity, compliance and risk management. You will be an operational lead who has an active interest in blockchain and decentralized technologies, and is passionate about building the next generation of value added services that can bring the benefits of crypto technologies to mainstream audiences.
You Will:
- Lead a partnership strategy that scales, unlocking the potential of Lightning Network payments for a broad audience.
- Develop and manage an ecosystem of partners to include wallets, exchanges, fintech partners, and eventually any online payments
- Create shared value between C= and those partners; structuring deals to maximum mutual benefit
- Partner with product, design and engineering teams to establish API-level requirements that enable partners to build into our ecosystem.
- Identify partner opportunities and execute partnerships across a broad global remit - from Africa, Europe, LATAM, Asia and the US, among other regions.
- Not only identify and define partnerships, but also manage the full post-deal-signing relationship, including monitoring, evolution and growth of the partnership.
- Play a driving force, alongside the product team, in defining the monetization strategy of C=, balancing incremental acquisition guided by partners with strong retention.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance and other teams as needed
Please note that this role is open to fully remote hiring for US based employees.
Qualifications
You Have:
- 10+ years experience in Partnerships or Strategic Business Development
- Experience building partnerships in financial services / money management, crypto wallets or exchanges, and other regulated industries.
- Built and managed partnerships across numerous global geographies.
- API-driven product-driven partnership experience (not resell or licensing deals).
- Experience managing the full lifecycle of partnership - not just up until deal-signing.
- Deep FinTech or global payments background, and prior experience building the operations / value chain to support the launch or ongoing operations of FinTech products
- Understand how to navigate regulated spaces and business development in the context of legal and compliance obligations to unlock innovation
- Strategic thinker who has strong conceptual and analytical skills to produce insights and recommendations around partnership and monetization
