Job Description:

Summary:

The student research assistant will work at the Antiracist Research and Policy Center (ARPC) under the Interim Executive Director and with either the Doctoral or Postdoctoral Fellow. They will assist in ongoing projects such as ARPC's research translation collaboration with the Critical Information Literacy Committee or ARPC's study of restorative justice through embodied awareness, as directed.

Essential Functions: 

• Use the library databases to find materials for an antiracist research project.

• Distinguish between credible and less-than-credible books, films, and articles.

• Keep research findings organized for the writer in residence.

• Learn and conduct editorial work on the project.

• The Research Assistant should have strong reading and writing skills.

Competencies:

• Collaborate with the professor on ongoing research projects.

• Conduct literature reviews and assist in data collection and analysis.

• Contribute to the preparation of research publications and presentations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-Time.

• Student.

• FWS.

• 5 hours per week.

• This position is available only to enrolled American University students with a Federal Work Study Award.

Salary Range:

• $17.95 per hour.
