Job Description
Acumatica is hiring a Senior Manager of Corporate Development (M&A) to report to our Head of Corporate Development/Chief of Staff, and support our merger, acquisition, and integration motions. In this role, you will:
Strategic Planning & Deal Sourcing
- Partner cross-functionally to support sourcing, evaluating, diligencing, transacting, and integrating inorganic targets.
- Help develop the company’s M&A strategy in alignment with corporate growth objectives.
- Proactively identify, research, and evaluate potential acquisition targets in key growth areas. This includes partnering with internal stakeholders to understand the M&A needs of product owners, as well as opportunities for expansion beyond current product development forecasts.
- Build relationships with bankers, VCs, advisors, and target company executives to ensure a strong deal pipeline.
Transaction Execution
- Lead due diligence efforts across functional teams (finance, legal, product, GTM, HR, and engineering).
- Create financial models, including software company valuation, product line forecasting, and long-range planning for existing and new revenue streams.
- Support negotiation of term sheets, purchase agreements, and integration plans.
- Manage external advisors (investment banks, consultants, legal counsel) throughout the process.
Integration & Value Realization
- Partner with business unit leaders and the integration team to ensure seamless transitions post-acquisition.
- Define success metrics and accountability for synergy realization.
- Conduct post-mortem analyses to refine M&A playbooks and improve future deals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, Strategy, and Product teams to align build-buy-partner frameworks.
- Present updates and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in venture/growth capital, investment banking, corporate development, or management consulting. SaaS experience is a plus.
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, retention, churn, CAC, LTV, net revenue expansion).
- Strong modeling, valuation, and due diligence skills. Advanced Excel skills.
- Proven track record executing full-cycle transactions (> $20M–$500M deal range).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple work streams and deadlines, balance competing priorities and communicate effectively.
- Strong work ethic, based on a desire to consistently exceed internal stakeholders’ expectations.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other members of the Finance, Legal, and HR teams and other cross-functional contributors and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
