What You Will Do:

The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Forge Module Center is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Discipline and Supplier Support .  The Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Supplier Support will be responsible for developing and implementing plans that are in line with the business strategy to further our world class technology portfolio.

  • Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes which support the growth curve and cost reduction targets; develop best practices and engineering standard work for vendor assist; develop best practices and engineering standard work for manufacturing engineering

  • Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality. Assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigation. 

  • Drive root cause and corrective action activities for procedural non-compliances within manufacturing engineering; assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigations

  • Develop relationships with vendors to drive continuous improvement opportunities

  • Support operational excellence using statistical analysis for process control and certification

  • Lead the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) journey to continuously improve the quality and exceed customer’s expectations; drive partnership with Product Engineering and Quality Engineering teams through continuous improvement

  • Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures

  • Monitoring the non-conformances and how the part ‘runs’ compared to ‘standard’ times. Look for areas to optimize, automate and trim waste.

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, quality or related industrial environment or a Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, quality or related industrial environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Statistical Process Control required DMAIC, Process Certification, UPPAP, Six Sigma

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Degree in a STEM field

  • Experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (CORE, 6S, etc.)

  • Experience working with CAD tools, and create engineering drawings

  • SAP experience

  • Project management experience
