JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis is to drive the successful execution of financial reporting, planning, and analysis including domestic and international, planning, analysis, forecasting and external reporting. This individual will report to the VP of FP&A and will provide a high level of financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, support with acquisition analysis and other ad-hoc projects. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making and works closely with multiple business units including the corporate functions and must be able to communicate clearly and translate financial data into value added business information to enable the business to better identify growth opportunities, address gaps and manage risks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Understand all key business and operation functions to support the changing landscape, give financial advice on changes, and anticipate and effectively communicate financial impact of those changes.
- Help develop and manage the preparation of annual operating budgets and/or periodic financial reports; brings strategic insights to the leadership team based on analysis of budgets and financial reports.
- Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures.
- Conduct research into variances and determines explanations.
- Prepare analysis and presentations supporting our Board, Business Development, and Management.
- Understand and manage appropriate procedures and processes around month-end and quarter-close activity.
- Together with Treasury, monitor the Global Cash Position daily, analyze variances in projected cash flows, and develop short and medium-term forecasts.
- Evaluate optimal financing options and strategies to maintain an efficient capital structure that supports ongoing operational and strategic funding needs (including M&A).
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development and implementation of long-term financial targets.
- Oversee and coordinate global initiatives such as transformation activity and acquisition.
- Assess needs to minimize currency risks and manage related programs if applicable.
- Responsible for ad-hoc financial analysis.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience Years: 10-15 years with 5+ years in an FP&A Leadership/Managerial capacity.
- Experience Type: Finance or Accounting.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and concepts utilized in financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, and ability to provide insightful financial and variance analysis; manufacturing background preferred.
- Previous managerial experience in FP&A.
- Experience working with or managing team members outside of the United States of America (USA).
- Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required, knowledge of Power BI.
- Adept with all aspects of finance and financial modeling.
- Ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, concise manner required.
- Experience in a matrixed environment.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills required.
