Software Assurance Test Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity: 

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.   

As a test engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with engineers and cyber professionals to evaluate software developed for the Navy. You’ll create a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using software testing tools to streamline the software assurance process, you’ll generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can implement improvements. 

You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of client-generated source code using tools such as CodePeer, Coverity, and Code Dx. You’ll also broaden your experience in embedded software and code analysis and gain skills in new areas such as cybersecurity and secure coding practices while sharing your testing experience with your team.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience with software engineering, including software assurance and code analysis

• Experience with code analysis tools, such as Coverity, Klocwork, Code Dx

• Experience applying secure coding practices

• Experience in the Ada programming language

• HS diploma or GED

• Secret clearance

• Ability to obtain a DoD 8140-compliant Certification or CompTIA Security+ Certification within 60 days of hire

Nice If You Have:

• Experience in programming languages, including C, C++, Java, or Python

• TS/SCI clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
