- Install electrical boxes and ground leads. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Test, diagnose and inspect electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system, troubleshoot and make any repairs as needed.
- Maintain records or files and prepare reports on repairs, installations, etc. Writes incident reports when required after a major failure.
- Documents and follows the schedule of preventive maintenance as specified by the manufacturers of the equipment used.
- Requisition and store materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Examine shipment contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
- Record shipment data for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Grounds and site maintenance as needed.
- Correspond with various internal and external partners to rectify site issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of best practices around electrical use
- Knowledge of telecommunications and data center operations
- Understanding of IT systems including but not limited to servers, network systems, fiber and copper cabling
- Experience troubleshooting electrical issues
- Prior experience working with low to medium-voltage electrical systems up to 690 volts on a regular basis
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
