Patient Coordinator – World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program – Global Patient Services

Each year, thousands of patients from all over the world travel to NewYork-Presbyterian hospital. Renowned physicians, leading-edge technology and ground-breaking procedures make us a destination center for care. Global Services has a team of dedicated professionals who make our patients feel at home while they are far from home. Our team is also dedicated to helping those who were present during and after the attacks of September 11, 2001 and the program provides medical monitoring and treatment of WTC-related health conditions for 9/11 responders and survivors.

In this position, you will serve as a resource to our Global Services and WTC patients and their families/guests for personalized assistance and orientation. This includes coordination of the entire referral process from initial inquiry, receipt of medical records, determination of services needed, coordinating services delivered, and following-up as necessary after services are completed. Interact closely with the faculty physicians of Cornell and Columbia medical schools along with hospital physicians. 

This is a daytime position located at our midtown corporate office.

Preferred Criteria

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Marketing
     

 Required Criteria

  • 3-5 years experience in patient services environment within a medical center, physician's office or related healthcare setting

  • Communication and presentation skills to effectively interact in a cross-cultural setting

  • Fluency in English and Arabic

  • Proof of at least 40 hours of professional training in Medical Interpretation from an approved program: Or Certificate of completion from an approved continuing education program Or Completion of an approved nationally recognized language proficiency assessment Or Certification from either the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters Or the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters

  • Proficiency with Windows-based software

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
