Interview Overview: Project ManagerThis role is responsible for leading the successful execution of multiple electrical construction projects, specifically within the data center industry. The Project Manager acts as the central hub between clients, field leadership, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Core Candidate MissionThe ideal candidate must be a high-ownership leader capable of simplifying complex construction lifecycles. They are expected to manage the full project lifecycle—from initial planning and resource allocation to final quality assurance and project closure—while maintaining long-standing client relationships.
Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Project Planning & Initiation: Developing comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets while conducting proactive risk assessments.
  • Technical Team Leadership: Building and leading diverse teams, including electricians, technicians, and subcontractors, while monitoring performance against objectives.
  • Operational Execution: Supervising site activities to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and relevant electrical codes.
  • Resource & Vendor Management: Coordinating materials, equipment, and personnel procurement to ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Change & Quality Control: Efficiently handling scope adjustments and implementing rigorous quality control procedures to guarantee high workmanship standards.
  • Client Communication: Maintaining transparent, regular reporting to clients regarding project status, budget deviations, and final deliverables.

Critical Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience: 5+ years of recent experience specifically as a Project Manager in the electrical data center construction industry.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools including Bluebeam, Procore, Accubid, and P6.
  • Safety Certifications: Demonstrated commitment to safety with NFPA 70E or OSHA certification.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel up to 10% and work frequently at outdoor construction sites.

Driver’s License Requirement:For roles that require on-site presence or travel between work locations as an essential function of the position, candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the role and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with applicable laws.
Communication Skills:Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties.
Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in an active data center construction environment, encompassing both indoor and outdoor work settings. The role requires the physical ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in a dynamic environment that includes ongoing construction activity and evolving site conditions.
The work environment includes areas and temporary structures owned, leased, or controlled by third parties over which Overwatch may have limited or no control. Because the project remains under construction, certain areas of the site — including access routes, staging zones, and temporary structures — may not yet be fully ADA-compliant until construction is complete or those third-party areas are finalized.
