Your Mission
- Provide advice and counseling on a broad spectrum of employment law issues, including recruiting, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, pay equity, internal investigations, compensation and benefits, contingent workers, and immigration.
- Evaluate, iterate and scale employment practices and policies at a growing organization.
- Draft, review and update employment related agreements and templates.
- Handle employment-related disputes.
- Conduct audits, employment classification reviews, and support other compliance efforts.
- Source and manage outside counsel on labor and employment matters.
- Help develop and conduct training and education programs for employees, managers, and the People Ops team.
- Provide advice to key business partners and help develop strategy on company-wide initiatives and policies affecting employees with a team-oriented approach.
- Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to employment issues and provide proactive, strategic advice to the relevant stakeholders as necessary
You Are
- 10+ years of employment law experience
- Member of a US state bar in good standing (California or New York preferred)
- Excellent communicator (verbal and written) with keen project management skills.
- Creative problem solver who demonstrates sound judgement and empathy with business partners
- Steward of integrity and trust in all business dealings
- Pragmatic and efficient: You think quickly and are able to give risk-adjusted, practical advice without perfect information. You break down ideas, projects, and problems and communicate solutions in terms that are relatable and understood easily without legal jargon.

- Significant in-house Tech experience, or other experience demonstrating a thoughtful, business-minded approach to legal counsel is a real plus
For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.
