The Advanced Engines Program (AEP) Fan/HPC CIPT is seeking a project / industrial engineer to support the team throughout the design, and validation/verification phases of various Fan and HPC rig and engine demo test programs. As the Fan/HPC project / industrial engineer, you will be responsible for developing industrial plans and hardware tracking, defining industrial risk mitigation plans, supporting engines and rigs through the development process from CI/CO to Detailed Design, hardware delivery to rig and engine builds, and assembly and test.  The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal guidance from CIPT leadership, motivate others to share the goals and visions of the team, and be able to effectively communicate to all levels of P&W and the supply base. 

What You Will Do

  • Prioritize & Execute industrial requirements to facilitate CIPT, PSC&V, and ACEP/AMEP alignment to meet hardware delivery requirements;
  • Manage Industrial trackers for all rigs/engines assigned;
  • Provide industrial input to Design, Pedigree and test Readiness Reviews;
  • Support all Industrial War Room and hardware related meetings, including EIPT, EDSIT, and SIPT, as well as support Module Assembly for development and test requiring hardware status inputs;
  • Provide technical support for rig build and test activities.
  • There is less than 10% US domestic travel associated with this role.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience, and 2+ years of prior relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • A basic understanding of the P&W Leadership Operating Model (LOM);
  • Developing skills needed to engage cross-functional teams, as needed, and knows when/where to get help;
  • Developing skills needed to improve effectiveness in working across functions, organizations and management;
  • Focus on results with the ability to drive tasks to closure;
  • Ability to contribute to Engineering Knowledge System (EKS) content;
  • Developing strong analytical problem-solving skills;
  • Developing strong communication skills, including verbal, technical writing and engineering presentations to all levels of engineering and program management;
  • A basic understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. ACE, QCPC);
  • Familiar with program/project management tools (e.g. SAP, EVMS, Teamcenter);
  • Experience with compressor component design/development preferred.
  • Ability to execute work independently, with minimal guidance
  • Ability to independently make decisions, with minimal guidance;
  • Ability to define and plan technical path for small and medium scale tasks;

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.<
