Where You Come InThis is a call to the operational architects ready to reinforce the financial backbone of a frontier technology company. As a Senior Accountant, you will be a critical driver of our financial integrity and operational scale. You will take ownership of core accounting functions while proactively improving the systems and processes that power our rapid growth. Your mission is to maintain and build a scalable and compliant financial backbone that enables Luma to continue investing in frontier research and defining a new market category.
What You'll Do

Own the Close: Manage all aspects of the month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement analysis. Take responsibility for all daily GL, AR/AP functions. Ensure accurate and timely processing of semi-monthly payroll working closely with our payroll provider. Calculate commissions and bonuses and maintain updated agreements.
Build the Process and Reporting: Design, implement, and document new accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and prepare the company for scale. Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports in accordance with US GAAP and implement process improvements to streamline the monthly close, reduce cycle time and improve information quality.
Drive Compliance: Assist with technical accounting research and support our annual financial audits and tax compliance efforts. Prepare and support reporting requirements for all state and federal tax filings.
Implement Systems: Partner with the Head of Finance to evaluate and implement new financial systems such as ERP, billing systems, travel systems, credit card systems, to automate and scale our operations. Other system experience including, Brex, Carta, Rippling.

Who You Are

You have 6+ years of accounting experience, with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and industry experience at a high-growth startup.
You hold a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and are a CPA preferred.
You have deep, hands-on experience with U.S. GAAP, month-end close, and general ledger functions.
You are a systems thinker with a history of implementing or improving accounting processes and controls.
Superior attention to detail, advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels.

What Sets You Apart (Bonus Points)

Experience with SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606).
Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
