More about the role:

Due to our exciting expansion into care for all cancer, we are developing as an organisation. We are growing our nurse cohort beyond breast and are now funding McGrath Cancer Care Nurses (MCCNs) who will support people who have been diagnosed with other cancer tumour streams.

We’re looking to add to our existing highly skilled Nursing Clinical Lead team with this impactful role as Nursing Clinical Lead - Haematological Cancers. This role is part of the Nursing Program function which is at the heart of McGrath Foundation’s purpose. As the haematological nursing clinical specialist, you will play an integral part in supporting and mentoring our McGrath Cancer Care Nurses who are providing care to people with a Haematological Cancer, including lymphoma and myeloma.

For those of you that like a little more detail, key responsibilities include:

• Providing haematology nursing expertise to the McGrath Model of Care around treatment pathways and protocols for haematological cancers, including lymphoma and myeloma
• Working with the Nursing Program team to ensure consistency of information and support for MCCNs
• Sharing specialist haematology knowledge to the Nursing Program team and the greater McGrath Foundation team
• Monitoring and mentoring to MCCNs caring for people with haematological cancer through providing clinical knowledge and guidance
• Applying expertise and professional experience to provide insights into the Nursing Program processes and offer feedback on opportunities to strengthen these processes

What you bring to the role:

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a haematological nursing specialist who is motivated and excited to play a key role in evolving the McGrath Model of Care as we take our care to all cancers. The ideal candidate presents the following skills, experience and qualifications:

• Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Tertiary Education qualifications in cancer nursing, ideally at Master level
• Minimum 5 years’ recent clinical experience caring for people with haematological cancers, including myeloma and lymphoma
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities
• Ability to develop and deliver program and education content for the Nursing Program team and MCCN cohort

This role is a permanent part-time position, working 4 days per week (0.8 FTE). Working remotely is an option with the ability to travel locally/interstate as required.
