About the role

As an HR Associate intern at PlanetArt, you will spearhead a pivotal research project aimed at identifying the optimal HR Information System (HRIS) for our organization. Your primary task will involve assessing our existing HRIS, conducting comprehensive research on alternative systems, and presenting recommendations for implementation. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

PlanetArt internships are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 9am-6pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the PlanetArt workday. Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. Key job responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include interviewing members of the HR & Payroll teams to understand their experiences with Paychex, identifying the specific requirements of PlanetArt for an HRIS, and researching 3-5 HRIS options. You will facilitate sales presentations for shortlisted HRIS providers and ultimately recommend the optimal solution. Additionally, you will devise a comprehensive transition plan outlining timelines, departmental involvement, and pricing analysis. Your culminating task will be to deliver a presentation to HR and key stakeholders, highlighting your recommended HRIS solution and its alignment with PlanetArt's needs. This presentation will encompass features and solutions based on insights gathered from discussions with HR and payroll teams, as well as identified business requirements. Furthermore, you will present a detailed transition plan, including timelines and deliverables, to facilitate PlanetArt's migration to the new HRIS.

Requirements

  • Candidate will be a current student or recent graduate holding a degree in HR, Business Administration, Management or Psychology.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills.

  • This is a hybrid position; interns are expected to be in the office three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option of working remotely two days (Wednesday and Friday).

Compensation:

The base pay for this position is $19.00 an hour.
