About the role
Growth Product Managers at Betterment play a specialized role in product management, focusing on building best-in-class user acquisition and activation experiences. They serve as a critical bridge between Marketing and feature development teams. Our mission at Betterment is to make people’s lives better, and Growth PMs contribute by expanding our reach, streamlining the onboarding funnel, and enabling internal teams to engage users throughout their journey.
As a Growth PM, you will drive product-led growth by executing a roadmap of features and experiments aimed at increasing Betterment’s revenue base. This highly collaborative, data-driven role works closely with the Marketing organization to drive business growth and enables internal teams to deepen our engagement with existing customers.
You will lead growth initiatives across acquisition and activation by collaborating with cross-functional partners in engineering, design, marketing, and analytics.
This role is based out of our NYC office. Below we've reflected the base salary range we would offer for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees.
- New York City: $140,000 - $165,000

This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus. For jobs based out of our NYC HQ, we require in office attendance Tuesday through Thursday, weekly.
A day in the life
- Gather feedback and insights from Product leadership, Marketing stakeholders, and other teams to inform your roadmap.
- Lead your Product, Design, and Engineering teams through agile project management processes, working closely with engineers to understand how our product is built.
- Foster a data-driven culture, leveraging competitive analysis, user research, and experimentation.
- Combine quantitative and qualitative data to prioritize your roadmap, ensuring alignment with internal goals and broader Betterment initiatives.
- Build user experiences that clearly communicate Betterment’s value and facilitate the efficient acquisition of new customers.
- Develop detailed engineering specs in collaboration with design and analytics partners, covering business logic, data collection, user acceptance criteria, and experiment definitions.
- Have a direct impact on key business outcomes every day.
What we’re looking for

- Deep intellectual curiosity about financial advice, investment products, and their value to clients.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, with experience crafting compelling narratives in presentations, written reports, and internal analyses.
- Working knowledge of digital marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude).
- Experience with CMS and CRM tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Cloud, WordPress, Mailchimp, etc., is a plus!
- Basic proficiency in HTML/CSS is a plus.
