We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Community Development Department in Williston, VT and work as a member of a team on a variety of site projects throughout northern New England.

This professional will lead site/civil projects from design through permitting, including detailed site design (e.g., layout, grading, utilities, erosion & sediment controls, etc.), stormwater drainage design, civil engineering design of municipal, institutional, public works and development projects, and hydraulic and hydrologic modeling to support design of culverts, and dam and bridge repairs and replacement.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Civil Engineer will provide day to day mentoring of project staff including to support professional growth. This professional will assist in new business pursuits related to site development and municipal engineering and supporting market growth initiatives within northern New England.

Additional responsibilities include acting as the lead during proposal development, being responsible for client communications and maintaining client relationships, and ensuring all projects adhere to our high standards of work we produce through a QA/QC process.   

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or civil and environmental engineering
  • At least 6 years (10+ preferred) of relevant working experience
  • PE license is required
  • Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D knowledge required; HydroCAD or similar experience a plus
  • GIS, HEC-RAS, and/or OpenRoads modeling skills are a plus
  • Experience logging test pits and evaluating soils for wastewater and stormwater disposal are a plus
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
