Job Description

The Media Management Operations Coordinator is responsible for operating key tools for ingesting, transcoding, capturing, archiving, restoring, distributing, and performing quality control of media in various formats, frame rates and codecs. In addition to maintaining detailed inventory trackers of all media received and communicating this information clearly to all internal production, post-production, editing, and closed caption teams.

 

  • Ingests media from various sources such as, but not limited to, KiPro cards, LTO discs, hard drives, FS55, FS5, P2 cards, WeTransfer links, Latakoo, Aspera Links among other devices used to archive and transport media in a production environment
  • Identify and manipulate various video formats such as HD, UHD, 4K, 6K, low-res proxies, XOCN files, among others
  • Ensures all media is received with Telemundo Technical Specifications, as detailed in the Telemundo Technical Specifications document, by QC’ing all ingested media  
  • Create a detailed report of all the media received and any discrepancies found. All reports are shared with various internal post-production teams and 3rd party vendors
  • Archives all media to tape deep archive and Azure via Diva View, using correct archive profile and correct naming convention
  • Restores media files as needed for editing and post-productions teams in a timely manner
  • Monitors Transfer Manager system to ensure jobs process correctly
  • Troubleshoots failed jobs, failed file transfers, missing media, and works closely with engineering to find solutions
  • Distributes media to various internal departments and 3rd party vendors as requested by clients
  • Assists in routine maintenance of all Production Asset Management systems, Isilon, and V-post environment
  • Maintains the inventory of raw footage on LTO tapes and updates the inventory tracker as media is processed
  • Works with engineering on replenishing LTO tapes in the Diva robot and synchronizing the database
  • Collaborates on the creation of new processes and workflows, as required by each new production and/or project
  • Reviews, analyzes, and reacts quickly to all media order requests
  • Works under the direct supervision of the Manager of Media Operations and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by manager

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a production, postproduction, broadcast, or communications environment
  • Exhibits working knowledge of computers and software applications including MS outlook, MS Word, & MS Excel
  • Exhibits knowledge of various media formats/VTRs (Digibeta, HDcam, XDcam, UHD, 4K, 6K), file types (QT, WMV, MXF, MOV, DNX, DNX 175X, DV, Apple ProRes, etc) and video standards (NTSC, PAL)
  • Moderate understanding of frame rates
  • Professional experience with Avid Media Composer, Avid Capture, Evertz Routers, Davinci, Silver Stack, Colorfront
  • Fluency in English (both written & verbal)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Fluency in English & Spanish is preferred
  • Bachelors or 2-year degree in Communications or Media preferred
  • Experience in international broadcast operations or media
  • Exceptional time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter who exhibits ownership on assigned tasks and who will push for solutions that solve immediate problems while building towards long-term goals
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment
  • Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and manage expectations
