Job Summary:
Leads the development and execution of the organization’s strategic initiatives related to quality improvement, risk management, and clinical education. Ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational goals. Leads the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality benchmarks to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. Collaborates closely with operational leadership, medical directors, hospice physicians, and business development teams to ensure clinical excellence, mitigate risk, and support growth and service expansion. Identifies risk trends and implement effective risk mitigation strategies, while also fostering a proactive culture of safety and compliance. Oversees the planning and delivery of a comprehensive hospice education program, ensuring staff competency, regulatory readiness, and ongoing professional development.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's degree: Preferred
- Seven years' related experience: Preferred
- Five years' leadership experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Develops and implements strategic goals and KPIs related to hospice quality, patient safety, and satisfaction. Travels to agency locations regularly and occasionally fills in when there are leadership vacancies.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including executive leadership, clinical operations, medical leadership, and business development, to integrate quality initiatives into service delivery.
- Leads quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) efforts in accordance with CMS conditions of participation and other regulatory bodies and analyze trends, incidents, and performance data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Directs the design and execution of risk prevention and mitigation programs and ensure a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Plans, develops, and oversees clinical education and training programs to support hospice staff, improve clinical outcomes, and maintain survey readiness.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
