Supervisor- Systems Accounting

As a Systems Accounting Supervisor in the SBS (Sherwin Business Services) team, you'll collaborate with organizational leaders, business units, and drive positive change through company-wide Finance Transformation initiatives. You'll be responsible for effectively managing North America payroll, Utilities, Stock Options and related accounting.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS                            

• This position is responsible for ensuring high-volume, transactional activity generated in external systems is accurately captured and recorded in Oracle GL.  These systems include: 
  • Dayforce/Ceridian and Safeguard for payroll, 
  • Schneider Electric / Cass Info Systems & Tangoe for utility and phone payments.
• Ownership of corporate accounting functions related to payroll, cash & utilities. 
  • Stock options 
  • US, Canadian & Caribbean bank account reconciliations
  • Utility Accruals
  • Prepares documents and work papers for internal and external auditors.
• Development and supervision of a team of financial professionals through adequate delegation, cross-training, and accountability
• Promotion of transactional lean initiatives
• The position will have frequent interaction with Corporate financial executives and be entrusted with highly confidential company information.
• Determine appropriate course of action for various ongoing and future projects including departmental initiatives, system enhancements/upgrades, and control compliance related to the Payroll and Utilities.
• Complete various special projects as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

• Bachelor degree with major in Accounting or Finance
• Knowledge of US GAAP

Preferred:

• Transactional Lean training

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• 3+ of progressive accounting, finance or auditing experience 
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. 
• Proven assertive project leadership skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Preferred:

• 5+ years of of progressive accounting, finance or auditing experience
• Public Accounting Experience
• Certified Public Accountant (or reasonable equivalent) 
• Previous experience with Oracle Cloud and OneStream.

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

• Strong people skills to support remote users effectively. 
• Strong analytical skills geared towards troubleshooting. 
• Must be able to work in a complex and fast-paced environment. 
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, and Power Point
• Incumbent must have effective interpersonal skills and judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations
