About the role

<p><b>About the Role</b> </p> <p><b>As a Senior Engineer – End Fitting R&amp;D, you will play a key role in enhancing, consolidating, and developing cutting-edge solutions for flexible pipe end-fittings. </b>This role sits within the Engineering &amp; Technology and New Product Development.<b> You will be the primary point of contact for ERD on assigned projects, reporting to the Head of End Fitting Research &amp; Development </b>and collaborate cross-functionally with global teams, test facilities, and factories. With strong roots in the offshore oil and gas industry, we are also at the forefront of future technologies such as water treatment, ammonia storage, carbon injection, and wind energy—helping to reduce CO₂ emissions and drive the energy transition. </p> <p>SPS is headquartered in Brøndby, Denmark, with production sites in Kalundborg (DK), Porto do Acu (Br), Glenrothes (UK) and offices in Stavanger and Oslo (No), Rio de Janeiro ( Br), and Houston (US).  Globally, our team includes around 1,500 dedicated professionals, contributing to NOV’s workforce of approximately 34,000 employees. <br/>  </p> <p><b>What We Offer</b> </p> <ul> <li>A dynamic, collaborative, and international work environment</li> <li>Hybrid working (3 days onsite, 2 home office), depending on assignment needs</li> <li>Participation in global, high-impact engineering projects</li> <li>Opportunity to drive technical innovation in subsea engineering</li> <li>Access to cutting-edge test and manufacturing facilities</li> <li>Competitive salary</li> <li>International travel </li> </ul> <p><b>Key Responsibilities</b> </p> <ul> <li>Generate new concepts and drive technology development in line with API 17N/Q and DNVGL-RP-A203 frameworks, to deliver cutting edge End Fitting solutions</li> <li>Conduct FMEAs to capture technology risks and define qualification programs</li> <li>Conduct Analytical and Finite Element analyses to evaluate performance of critical components under complex load scenarios and environmental conditions, incl. bolted joint assessments, contact problems, and plastic deformation of seal components</li> <li>Define and oversee test activities and dissections of test End Fittings and field samples </li> <li>Collaborate with external certification bodies for certification of new technology</li> <li>Develop design methodologies and guidelines, and support implementation into our design tools to enable safe and efficient execution of commercial projects </li> <li>Collaborate closely with our End Fitting Supply team, providing R&amp;D support during tendering and on commercial projects</li> <li>Conduct structured root cause analyses in coordination with clients</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><b>Qualifications &amp; Skills</b> </p> <p><b>Essential Qualifications:</b></p> <ul> <li><b>M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a strong solid mechanics background</b></li> <li><b>5+ years of experience in a similar role, within R&amp;D, working with development and qualification of advanced products and technology </b></li> <li>Proficiency in Finite Element modeling</li> <li>Proven ability to plan and lead test programs</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills in <b>English</b></li> <li>Natural drive for engineering excellence</li> <li>Commitment to HSE practices</li> </ul> <p><b>Desired Qualifications:</b></p> <ul> <li><b>Experience in offshore oil &amp; gas equipment engineering</b></li> <li>Accustomed to working within a matrix organization</li> <li>Enjoyment of team collaboration and social engagement </li> </ul> <p><b>Soft Skills </b></p> <p>To thrive in our culture, we value individuals who combine technical rigor with collaborative energy.
