About the role

The Director US Retail Sales is responsible for managing the overall performance and development of private label products across several US Retailer Customers nationally. Reporting to the Vice President of Retail Sales, this role will be responsible for developing and executing the US Retail Divisions long term strategy.  Working directly with key customers on a day-to-day basis, this role will be required to collaborate constructively with cross-functional departments, to exceed customer expectations and build long term partnerships.   

 

  • Lead the development and execution of the divisions long term strategy. 
  • Coaching and development of a direct report 
  • Drive joint business planning practices to promote engagement from all levels of customer organizations, enabling market share growth.  
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of external opportunities and threats including the competitive landscape. 
  • Quarterbacking all aspects of the customer relationship as the primary conduit for business customer communications.
  • Work in cooperation with peer departments including category management, supply chain and finance to ensure effective commercialization of products.
  • Spends time in stores across different markets 
  • Leverage data and insights to always have a strong pulse on the category performance. 
  • Meet and/or exceed volume, revenue, and margin targets in accordance with corporate objectives.
  • Leads customer RFP negotiations
  • Post secondary degree or diploma; Business/Commerce preferred
  • 10 years sales experience managing US Retail customers 
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of US Retail Landscape
  • Experience working with cross functional teams; supply chain, finance, marketing, customer insights
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships through strategic joint partnerships
  • Experience in management of people and customer contacts
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a self-motivated builder 
  • Detail focused with the ability to manage multiple projects 
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Excel and Power Point 
  • P&L management
