As Director, Market Research & Analysis, you will manage Target’s store location and market optimization strategies, delivering critical strategic guidance fueling enterprise growth. Your specialized expertise will guide and shape the Market Research team’s strategic direction, guiding holistic store location strategy and capital planning decisions (new stores and remodel focus). In this role, you will manage market analytic consultation supporting enterprise growth with leadership teams across the enterprise including Capital Planning/Properties Finance, GIS/Spatial Analytics team, Properties – New Stores/Remodel/Design teams, Stores, and Corporate Development. In collaboration with the existing Market Research leadership team, you will take lead on advancing our market framework approach across the New Store & Remodel program, while also guiding new ways to leverage this approach across broader FP&A and enterprise routines to help accelerate sales growth and drive market share.
You will lead a team of regional market experts, fostering an environment of trust, innovation, accountability, open communication, and personal development, ensuring that each team member has the support and training they need to maximize their performance. You will guide and continue to evolve the team’s market-specific strategic consultation and new store sales forecasting for locations across the country, evaluating the importance of store location attributes, interpreting strategic tradeoffs, competitive positioning, site dynamics, market trends, demographic and economic indicators. You will have the opportunity to drive increased efficiencies and value across team capabilities, assessing current run state and exploring new ways of working to expand scope of impact across FP&A and the broader enterprise.

About you:
- Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
- 10 + years business experience in retail market research/real estate strategy
- Excellent leadership skills, with ability to inspire, set strategic vision and manage changing prioritie
