Accounting Associate

Description

Summary

Under supervision of the Controller, this individual will serve as an accounting associate for a long-term care facility management office. Major responsibilities will include accounts payable and payroll processing for multiple locations. 

Entering financial data and transactions into ledgers.

Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts.

Working with other departments to complete accurate records.

Deposits, positive pay, and bank reconciliation.

Payroll processing 

Prepare sales and USE taxes.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft office applications.

Verbal and behavioral communication skills

Analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities.

Organizational skills.

• Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.
• Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Charges expenses to accounts by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries
• Pays vendors by scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation. 
• Prepare and complete account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
• Preparing and submitting payroll biweekly 
• Act as a point of contact for facilities A/P and Payroll needs.
• Preparing reports as needed
• Other duties as assigned by Controller

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelors in Accounting preferred, or bookkeeping and payroll experience
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft office applications
• Verbal and behavioral communication skills
• Analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities
• Organizational skills
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
