Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator, Student Financial Aid - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Specifically coordinates aid awarding and manages processing for students in the Comprehensive Transition & Postsecondary Program (CTP).

  • Reviews eligibility for financial aid packages, processes professional judgment (PJ), satisfactory academic progress (SAP) appeals, and revises and cancels aid as required.

  • Ensures that front desk staff are giving accurate information and appropriately accepting and posting incoming documents.

  • Advises and counsels students regarding financial aid options, student budgets, completion of financial aid forms, and eligibility for aid.

  • Coordinates the awarding of scholarships and other aid as required.

  • Case Manager: makes financial decisions as to the student's eligibility for financial aid for assigned students based on the alpha division.

  • Processes consortium agreements and study abroad for all FAU students.

  • Assists front desk staffing during peak time or as needed.

  • Performs financial aid outreach presentations and workshops within the local community to include but not limited to local public high schools.

  • Reviews and processes weekly financial aid reports such as negative need and over budget reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required.
