We develop scalable, intelligent, and trustworthy AIoT solutions to enable inspiring UX for Bosch products and services in application areas such as automated driving, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), robotics, smart manufacturing, enterprise AI, health care, smart home and building solutions.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will passionately drive and further advance innovations in the field of AI-based planning for autonomous systems. The work includes conducting advanced research and development of novel algorithms and guiding business units to bring innovation ideas to products. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Conduct cutting-edge research and engineering in AI and deep learning algorithms to tackle challenges and uncertainties of predication and planning for autonomous systems.
- Work with an international team of experts to transfer the results of advanced research to Bosch business units. Validate and test research ideas on simulated environments, large scale datasets, and self-driving vehicles.
- Actively scout for the emerging technologies and predict market trends by monitoring tech news, events and seminars.
- Provide expert opinions on relevant technology areas to facilitate strategic planning, R&D roadmap development, and business investment.
- Summarize research findings in high-quality paper and/or patent submissions.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Master of Science in Robotics/Computer Science/Engineering (or related field):
- M.S. plus 4+ years of industry R&D experience in AI based prediction and planning.
- PhD plus 2+ years of industry R&D experience in AI based prediction and planning.
- 4+ years hands-on experience in deep learning topics with focus on at least three of the following areas: reinforcement learning, imitation learning, vector/point-based input representations for learning, planning for navigation, behavior prediction, multi-agent training, uncertainty estimation, localization, and sensor fusion.
- Programming experience in C, C++, Python, and hands-on experience with libraries such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, OpenCV, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Publication record in top venues in robotics/machine learning/computer vision, e.g., ICRA, IROS, RSS, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, and ECCV.
- Working experience in the field of planning or prediction for automated driving
- Experience in leading R&D project & team dealing with international customers.
- Background in methods for planning under uncertainty and risk-aware intelligent decision making in uncertain environments.
- Background in probabilistic robotics.
- Experience writing algorithms in C++ efficiently and correctly in a production environment (code reviews, unit tests, etc.)
- Knowledge of Linux, and development on Linux systems.
- Experience in working with a variety of sensor modalities such as RGBD cameras, depth sensors, IMU, LIDAR, radar, etc.
- Experience in performing in-vehicle tests, data collection, and automated drive missions.
- Experience working with big data and associated distributed processing tools (e.g., Spark) as well as cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of HD mapping technologies and their applications in ADAS systems.
- Strong leadership skills with excellent English communication & teamwork skills.
