AllSci’s platform allows researchers to publish all their ideas and experiments, explore the existing literature through novel and intuitive means, and get credit for their contributions to the scientific dialogue. AllSci’s platform will lead to significantly increased volume, value, and machine readability of scientific information and will address the issues of incentives, trust, and reproducibility that plague science today. AllSci has made significant technological progress and assembled a team of AI technologists and industry veterans and plans to launch its beta platform in Q2, 2024.   Position  AllSci is seeking an experienced executive to serve as Chief Financial Officer. This individual will be responsible for leading the company’s financial strategy and execution to drive growth, profitability, and financial sustainability. The CFO will focus on raising capital, ownership of the financial model, and day to day financial operations. 

Strategy

• Work with executive team to develop and implement corporate strategy and goals 
• Develop and implement a financial strategy that aligns with the business strategy and goals 
• Assess competitive landscape from a resource and capital flow point of view 
• Help identify strategic M&A or partnership opportunities  
• Keep abreast of legislation, rules, and tax changes that could impact business strategy 
• Analyze and evaluate financial performance, identifying opportunities for growth, optimization, and risk mitigation

Capital Raising and Investor Relations

• Drive Series A and subsequent financing 
• Investigate and execute on federal and other non-dilutive grant opportunities from DARPA, NIH, NSF, and others 
• Manage investor relations, investor reporting, board presentations, etc. 
• Leverage existing relationships and establish and maintain new relationships with investors, lenders, vendors, and other third parties

Financial Operations

• Oversee financial operations including accounting, financial reporting, tax, audit, and compliance 
• Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets 
• Manage cash flow and controls 
• Develop and implement best practices and tools for fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows 
• Ensure financial policies and procedures are in place and adhered to, promoting transparency and accountability 
• Transform financial data into strategic insights, guiding operational leaders towards increased profitability through meaningful dialogue and proactive financial planning 

Qualifications and Skills

• MBA, CFA, or equivalent 
• Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar role at a startup 
• Experience successfully raising venture capital 
• Experience with software and technology businesses, life science a plus 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and investors 
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate financial data and metrics, with a deep understanding of finance analytics and tools 
• Experience in developing and implementing financial strategies, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting 
• Strong business acumen and financial acuity, with the ability to provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
