Job Summary
Manages the team that is responsible for the development of Master Research Files (MRF), Premium Rate Validation and Client Treaty Audit within the Sage Operations-Data Analytics Operations department, to ensure that quality standards are met for model build input data, premium payment, and client issue remediation.  Provides project management, business analysis, data analysis and technical expertise, as well as, leadership to the Premium Analytics & Compliance (PAC) Team.  Supports the SVP of Operations in the performance of other analytical, leadership and technical assignments as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • (70%) Management Responsibilities
    • Recruits, manages, motivates and coaches assigned team members to achieve department objectives so that the company’s business goals are met.    
    • Monitors productivity and quality for compliance with standards to ensure the timely and accurate production of work products for premium validation, client issue remediation, MRF production, treaty audit and for handoff to Corporate Actuarial colleagues where applicable.  Develops, maintains and distributes process documentation related to processes under management.  Leads communication and facilitates meetings with internal stakeholders, including senior management.  
    • Establishes individual performance goals and development plans so that team and company objectives are met.  Conducts performance reviews to recognize excellence, address performance issues, and provide guidance on career path to ensure team members understand strengths and opportunities.
  • (15%) Operational Effectiveness Responsibilities

    • Collaborates, identifies, and prioritizes work assignments and opportunities to provide support to the business unit’s current and emerging reliance on accurate, complete, integrated and validated data.

    • Acts in a problem-solving capacity for complex business and technical situations so that quality and service standards are met.

  • (15%) Project Leadership

    • Participates on Business Unit, and team projects, representing Premium Analytics & Compliance, as assigned, so that Business Unit objectives are met.  Assumes leadership roles required to support the success of the projects.  Communicates project information and provides status updates to appropriate parties on a timely basis.

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Math, Statistics, or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum 7 years of insurance, reinsurance or other related field experience with a minimum of 5 years in a management/leadership capacity 
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience in operational and/or project capacity
  • Strong working knowledge of reinsurance operations
  • Strong working knowledge of modelling processes
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and customer service skills   
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Intermediate SQL, MS Office: Excel, Word, and Power Point skills

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Project management, business analysis and data analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of HLR modelling processes
  • Working knowledge of HLR America operations and administrative business practices
  • Advanced working knowledge of life insurance/reinsurance data and administration

Travel: 

  • 5% domestic travel, overnight stay

Total Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):

  • $143,300 - $193,900
