Within the Hand Tools, Accessories, & Storage division of Stanley Black & Decker we are currently looking for an Associate Product Manager to join our team. This role, you will have the opportunity to support the team in the creation and maintenance of promotional executions in multiple retail, commercial and industrial settings.

The Job:

As an Associate Product Manager – Promotions, you will own the definition and development of the quarterly promotional executions for the Power Tool Accessories product lines, working as a hybrid employee. This position requires strong project management and organizational skills and the ability to effectively work with others across the organization including: product managers, sales and channel marketing, engineering, brand marketing, supply chain, and finance.  Ideal candidates should be self-motivated individuals with a strong work ethic that have experience with managing the complete life cycle of products, conducting market research, and a strong financial acumen. You’ll also get to:

  • Own and manage complete promotional product lifecycle process from concept to delivery across multiple global retail and commercial channels

  • Serve as project manager for multiple projects all in varying stages of development while maintaining tight timelines for time sensitive executions

  • Work in tandem with the channel marketing, sales, and brand teams to develop quarterly sales promotion programs. 

  • Closely lead, collaborate, and work with cross-department teams and business groups, such as sales, channel, packaging, supply chain, engineering, manufacturing and finance to drive and develop new promotional executions that meet company objectives together with the Accessories Product Management team.

  • Work with third party suppliers to coordinate domestically assembled displays and products.

  • Develop and implement relevant marketing collateral, point-of-purchase displays, advertising materials and web content to promote your managed product portfolio.

  • Conduct end-user and competitive market research to determine pricing, margin and profitability targets.

  • Maintain an awareness of trends in the industry and related industries and develop a deep understanding of the end users to incorporate these insights into an effective promotional strategy

  • Work with the Accessories Product Management team to develop and execute comprehensive short and long-term strategic plans for a profitable retail and industrial promotional portfolio

  • Support the execution of other key strategic retail executions as needed

The Person:

  • BS or BA in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field required.

  • 0 - 3 years’ experience of product management experience.

  • Ability to work effectively across functions and lead teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Demonstrated problem solving, research, and analytical skills.

  • Outstanding organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Experience using various computer applications including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other applications in the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must have a “can-do” attitude – the desire to go above and beyond in all you do!

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Consumer Products Experience

  • Experience working directly with retailers or other large customers

  • Experience working for a large global company
