ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

 

• We are hiring immediately for an ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER position.
• Location: New Albany, OH. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full Time; Typically Monday through Friday with occasional weekend needs. Hours are typically 7 or 8 am - 4 or 5 pm. Catering events or client activities may require work after 5 pm occasionally. 
• Details: The Assistant General Manager oversees 3 cafes and on-campus catering. Will be managing 10-15 hourly associates, and 2-4 hourly supervisors.  
• Requirement: Previous catering and cafe management experience required. Experience with contracted dining services is very helpful, ability to multi-task, proficient computer skills, and experience with Caterease or CaterTrax are ideal.

Job Summary

Summary: As an Assistant General Manager I, you will be responsible for assisting with running the day- to-day food service operation of a medium to large volume location.  You will manage and lead a team of associates and oversee quality controls for the account. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Assists with managing food service operations in accordance with the approved budget while providing the client with the maximum value for the dollars spent.

• Ensures the food offered to the client, customers, and employees of the operation is of superior quality.
• Maintains excellent relationships with associates, guests, and client as well as other departments within the operation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

• 2 to 4 years of food service management experience.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Comprehensive food knowledge.
• Operations management experience with purchasing knowledge.
• Financial experience and business acumen skills.
• ServSafe Certification is preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
• Associate’s degree is preferred.
