About the role

Position Summary
Responsible for providing administrative support to the Shop Manager at our Alden, Iowa Maintenance Facility. Manage all daily, weekly, and monthly administrative functions, oversee general accounting, and conduct financial analysis.  Requirements 
  • Perform duties related to the following:  computerized records maintenance, office administration, accounts payable/receivable, production, finished goods/parts/supplies inventories, purchasing, and preparation of government and other regulatory reports as required.
  • This position is the face of Alden Shop, and the position will need to provide customer service to vendors, visitors, and other Company employees
  • Creating and receipting purchase orders.
  • Create and inspire an atmosphere of teamwork with administrative and management staff.
  • Assist in coordinating various Human Resource functions including safety communications, performance and recognition records, personnel and training records, and payroll and timekeeping systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of any reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profitability, budgeting, forecasting, and other financial and variance results analysis.  Implement and maintain administrative procedures and internal controls by company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Clear the AP invoices on hold
  • Help maintain SOX compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field experience preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in office administration (mining or manufacturing/industrial facility a plus)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently.
  • Highly proficient in MS programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)                                          
  • Proficient accounting knowledge and skills
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple tasks
  • Able to communicate effectively with both internal employees and external vendors and customers 
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds.
