NOTE: This is a grant-funded position. There is no guarantee of employment beyond the grant period, which ends August 31, 2025. Although the grant is expected to end on that date, sometimes additional funding can be obtained to extend a grant beyond the end date. If that would occur, your employment under the grant might also be extended.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Assist the director in program planning, development including but not limited to planning, organizing, and promoting campus and community connection events, workshops, peer learning activities, and student travel, etc
- Coordinates recruitment of student applicants for the Student Support Services program.
- Coordinates the logistics of events to determine place and times, organize materials, and publicize events
- Coordinates the academic support to students by working with director to develop individualized plans, providing direction for academic skill development, advise participants in the completion of the RMS College Student Inventory, evaluate student progress and make modifications to student goals for success. Record activity attendance and participation data for each Student Support Services participant (financial aid, scholarships, employment opportunities, social services, etc.).
- Manage tutoring program and assign tutors.
- Provides guidance and referrals to Ivy Cares and outside agencies, as appropriate.
- Conducts all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and complete confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of one-year relevant experience demonstrating leadership qualities preferably in the social service or educational setting.
- Successful applicants should be knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of low income or academically disadvantaged students.
- The Assistant Director should be computer literate, available to work flexible hours, and travel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Actively participates in professional development opportunities and professional organizations as well as campus and College committees.
