Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is looking for a dedicated and experienced Certified Sr. Surgery Associate to join our Surgery Department on a part-time basis (30 hours per week). Job Summary:
Schedules surgical procedures, based on physician instructions. Generates and distributes surgery schedules to selected departments throughout the facility. Assumes responsibility for telephone communications and general clerical functions. Corresponds with assigned charge nurses to ensure fluency of scheduled surgical cases and overall throughput of the day. Assists with orienting and providing on-the-job skills training to others. Guides others in the completion of tasks within clearly defined schedules as set by management.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Two years' technical experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Schedules surgical service, operating room, endoscopy lab, catheterization lab and obstetric modalities, maintaining accuracy surrounding patients, physicians, procedures, assistants, time, special needs and equipment, based on physician instructions.
- Prepares and conducts timely, efficient and accurate three day follow-up before daily surgical service huddles.
- Notifies appropriate persons and departments about scheduled, modified or cancelled cases that are elective, inpatient or add-on. Provides special attention to cases with special needs or equipment requests from total join services, obstetrics, pathology, radiology and material management.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
