Sr. Medical Affairs Governance and Education Coordinator-HSO Medical Staff Services-Mount Sinai Hospital-Remote-Full Time-Days
Position Summary:
The Sr. Medical Affairs Governance & Education Coordinator provides oversight for the medical staff governing documents and related committees to ensure regulatory and statutory compliance.
- Manages the Medical Staff governing documents (Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, Code of Conduct & Policies & Procedures), to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory compliance, and partner with all senior leadership to ensure site specific governing documents are customized and maintained at all times.
- Support the Presidents of each MSHS Medical Board to oversee the support and coordination of all Medical Boards and associated committees to ensure clarity, organization and compliance. This individual serves as an administrative liaison to Medical Board members and administrators to provide clerical support as it relates to assigned meetings.
- Monitors all regulatory requirements related to business items that require Medical Board approval, and ensures compliance and proper documentation.
- Prepares all medical staff reports on behalf of the Medical Boards for presentation to the Board of Trustees.
- Assists with the development of or maintenance of all education and orientation materials as required by Medical Staff Affairs, and any associated policies and procedures.
- Participates in the development of online content and communication for the credentialed providers or other communications as needed or requested by the Medical Affairs leadership team.
- Oversee the performance and development of staff that support the medical affairs governance process.
- Provides other support or performs other duties as requested by members of the Medical Staff Affairs leadership team.
Education:
- Bachelor?s degree in healthcare administration or other related field required. Master?s degree preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in supporting/coordinating large executive committee or board meetings.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing medical staff governing documents.
- 3 years of experience in employee oversight
- Must have excellent grammar and written communication skills, skills
Licensing and Certification Requirements:
- Certified Professional Medical Staff Management or Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist
Computer Skills:
- MS Office Suite -advanced
General Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of electronic database management systems
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to identify compliance issues, communicate issues to others and identify resolutions effectively
Describe Work Environment:
- Must have a home office set up conducive for remote work and preferably have experience working in a remote environment.
