Description
As part of its reorganization effective August 1, 2026, Office of Statewide Programs will have an opening for a Program Project Coordinator – Juvenile Services. This position may be assigned a workstation in any Kentucky county EXCEPT the following: Crittenden, Hickman, Lewis, Mason, Morgan, Rockcastle, or Trimble.

The Program Project Coordinator- Juvenile Services will develop, implement, and enhance programs and services for youth within the juvenile justice system. The role collaborates with courts, local agencies, community organizations, and government entities, maintains evidence-based practices and staff trainings, manages records, and supports supervisors and regional staff in program operations and projects.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS CLASSIFICATION:
  • Collaborate with Court Designated Workers, management, and external partners to coordinate activities and ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.
  • Performs support functions for supervisor(s) and regional staff by assisting with daily operations and projects and ensures the accuracy and integrity of departmental records and regional data through investigation, maintenance, and proper documentation.
  • Communicate best practices, updated legislation, and effective juvenile interventions to staff to support informed, evidence-based program delivery.
  • Carry and manage an assigned caseload, including maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring client progress, and ensuring timely completion of required services and reports.
  • Serve as a Court Designated Worker (CDW) on an as-needed basis, including conducting assessments, crisis intervention, intake screenings, and providing recommendations in accordance with agency policies and legal requirements.
  • Coach and guide staff to improve performance and address challenges within juvenile justice programs.
  • Oversee regional implementation of juvenile justice programs, ensuring alignment with local and state standards.
  • Plan, organize, and manage multiple projects or initiatives, including tracking funding sources, ensuring timely and effective execution
  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, mental health providers, and community organizations to promote youth rehabilitation and prevent recidivism.
  • Develop and present reports to authorities and stakeholders, showcasing program trends, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and resources, including presentations, webinars, agendas, and supplemental documentation.
  • Coordinate and lead meetings and events to support program operations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, human services, or a related field; high school diploma with relevant experience may be considered.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Minimum of 1–2 years in criminal justice, juvenile diversion, social work, or a related field.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for- year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional education or professional training in criminal justice, social work, human Services, or a related field may substitute for some required work experience.
