What you will be doing:
The EM&V Analyst  will support our program implementation teams on the delivery of commercial, industrial, and residential programs in the Midwest, West, and Canada, playing a critical role in the design, administration, and evaluation of our energy efficiency programs. This position will actively participate in EM&V Working Groups and requires coordination with independent, third party and statewide evaluators as directed. Day-to-day activities will focus on assignments such as:

  • Solve quantitative and qualitative problems, including the management of energy savings calculations based on Technical Reference Manuals or the similar accepted standards 
  • Coordinate with ICF’s broader team of advanced technical experts related to EM&V, benefit-cost analysis, market assessments, and/or evaluation methodologies.
  • Investigate emerging energy efficient or alternative energy technologies and relevant program delivery strategies deployed across the country and prepare recommendations regarding the outcome of the research 
  • Review reports and presentations by third party evaluators 
  • Engage with program leads, clients, and evaluators to discuss methodology and program adjustments to mitigate any risks associated with unexpected program evaluations. 
  • Maintain EM&V parameters in a database of energy efficiency measures and related data on programs 
  • Liaise with IT and Reporting Teams (including coordinating, tracking, and resolving action items) 
  • Regularly review and update benefit-cost model inputs, assumptions. Documentation and forecast any changes 
  • Ensure standardization of assumptions and methodology in energy efficiency savings calculations 
  • Other duties as required to support our work nationally and assist regional leadership.
  • Travel less than 15%

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications): 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Management, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Policy, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, engineering, or related experience
  • Experience working with industry-standard Business Applications (such as Google suite, M365, Visualization Tools, Advanced Data Insights and Analytics)  

Professional Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, with clients and colleagues at all levels. 
  • Other skills: systems thinking, problem-solving, active listening, results-oriented, presentation and story-telling skills 
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information 

 
What would be useful: 

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP)
  • Knowledge of the utility and energy efficiency, demand response, and distributed energy resource programs and markets
  • Experience with AI-centric tools and applications
  • Experience with SharePoint Lists, PowerBI, Power Query, or Power Automate.
  • Advanced Excel skills such as Macros, Solver, VBA, etc.
