We are looking for a Chief/Senior Test Engineer to join the Wärtsilä 46TS Testing & Validation team. In this role the main focus area will be on testing activities taking place in Sustainable Technology Hub factory engine test run when new W46TS engine variants or new technologies are introduced into serial production, new technologies being conventional combustion processes and fuels but also innovative combustion processes with sustainable fuels. Occasionally there will also be needed to support laboratory engines.
Position is permanent and located in Vaasa, Finland.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and execute component and performance tests on production and laboratory engines.
- Ensure that test results are reliable and in compliance with industry specific standards and Wärtsilä guidelines.
- Analyse and report test results.
- Co-operate with engine product teams and product development expert organisation.
- Develop and improve test methods and facilities.
Requirements:
- BSc or MSc in relevant engineering field
- Strong passion and understanding of engine technologies.
- Knowledge about combustion engine control systems
- Leadership skills
- Communication and negotiation skills
- Team working skills but also ability to work independently.
- Structured way of working
- Proactive mindset and passionate about getting things done.
- 2+ years’ experience of laboratory testing, is seen as an advantage.
- Due to working environment, verbal and written skills in Finnish and English language are mandatory. Swedish language skills are seen as an advantage.
