Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
As our new Regional Category Manager, you will develop and implement the category strategy for Precision Turned Parts and Raw Materials across the North America region while developing strong relations with key internal and external stakeholders. You will be entrusted with the responsibility for managing a small, selected number of high spend suppliers that has high attention from the top management in Danfoss.
This position will give you an exciting growth opportunity to define, implement, lead and coordinate category strategy activities in North America and Mexico. Your key tasks, will be to:
- Accelerate cost reduction impact from suppliers
- Drive and execute a sustainable savings pipeline across all levers (negotiations, projects, and technical ideas)
- Develop and implement supplier strategy for own suppliers
- Research trends within technology incl. how other industries impact the sub-category e.g., late point definition, automation, supply, pricing, investments
- Take full and proactive responsibility for supplier performance
- Lead supplier relationship, acting as the Danfoss key account
- Manage supplier development activities
- Lead Regional Sourcing and Supplier Selection
- Develop and support sourcing strategies including decarbonization, regionalization, localization, dual sourcing or strategies as applicable for each division and business unit
- Understand the Danfoss business needs and the commodity market impacts
Background & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Engineering.
- 3+ years of category management experience with mechanical parts, with strong commercial understanding
- 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing company
