The Work You Will Do:
The Director is responsible for Board administration and the operations of the Division of Certified Public Accounting. The Director ensures that all the services necessary to perform the duties of Ch. 473, F.S. are provided by the Division of Certified Public Accounting. The Director reports directly to the Department’s Deputy Secretary of Professions.
He or she is responsible for planning, developing, organizing and directing policies and procedures related to the division’s functions and assigned staff.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The Director assists, advises and coordinates with the Florida Board of Accountancy on a wide variety of administrative and policy matters to ensure an effective delivery of services to the public, identifying problems and centralizing expertise to resolve them. He or she must always be available to the board to render necessary assistance with administrative actions.
The position is actively involved in the preparation and coordination of meeting agendas and is responsible for keeping Board members informed of topics to be discussed at meetings and for providing background information.
The Director is responsible for preparation and administration of the Division's budget; advises and makes recommendations to the Department and the Board of Accountancy regarding financial matters. Recommends approval/disapproval of major expenditures, agreements and contracts involving operation of the Division. Reviews operating expenses of each section supervised to ensure compliance with budgetary authorization.
The Director is responsible for matters relating to personnel, including position descriptions, hiring, dismissal, discipline, performance evaluations, salary recommendations and other related matters/functions.
